More than a temporary job

A temporary job is all that some of our candidates want – a means to fill a gap in earnings. It has become more commonplace in the past year as a result of pandemic-related redundancies.

For others, particularly candidates who have moved here from abroad, a temporary job has been a gateway to a new and better life. It can be the first step to earning money. Not only to put a roof over their head and food on the table but to pay for English lessons that can improve the scope of their employment and their earning potential. For any candidate, a temporary job can be the first step towards a rewarding career, particularly if they do not know what they want to do when they leave school or college, or if a change in life circumstances means they need to reconsider their job or profession.

Many of our candidates go onto permanent roles with our clients and then progress within those organisations.

How do we help?

We make it easy.

Our 24-hour transport service makes it easy for staff to reach jobs in rural locations that would be difficult to access using public transport. 

We offer weekly pay. For staff working on an hourly basis, this really helps manage money because shifts may vary each week. 

The Rapid Personnel App makes it easier for staff to communicate with the Rapid Team and accept shift bookings.

We support candidates in securing National Insurance numbers and opening bank accounts so that they can start work straight away. We also make our services more accessible to candidates who don’t have English as a first language. Our office and transport staff are multi-lingual, speaking English, Polish and Greek. We also welcome candidates to bring along a friend to translate (when they can come into the office). Language doesn’t need to be a barrier to securing a first job. We make sure it isn’t.

We provide support and encouragement

We encourage and support anyone who wants to progress. If that’s you, we will help you secure the roles that will allow you to move forward. Amongst the Rapid Office staff, we have a number of success stories. Our office manager, Sylwia, started with Rapid as a temporary cleaner. One of our drivers, Stelian, began with temporary hotel work.
