In April, there will be a rise in the National Minimum Wage and the National Living Wage.
They will increase by the following amounts*:
- National Living Wage (23 by 2.2%, from £8.72 to £8.91
- National Minimum Wage (21-22) by 2%, from £8.20 to £8.36
- National Minimum Wage (18-20) by 1.7% from £6.45 to £6.56
- National Minimum Wage (under 18) by 1.5% from £4.55 to £4.62
Whilst this is very good news, we have been dismayed to learn that an estimated 420,000 plus workers* do not receive the National Minimum wage. Of the 360,000 workers entitled to the National Living Wage, more than 1 in 5 are not receiving it.
At Rapid Personnel, all our workers receive at least the National Minimum or National Living Wage. We also take special care to ensure they know they should be receiving it. We do so by posting information on our website, the Rapid Personnel App and directing people to the Just Good Work App.
So committed are we to the fair treatment of temporary workers, we also make this information accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they are in Rapid’s employ.
If you are reading this and are not receiving the National Minimum Wage check the Just Good Work App for advice or contact the Acas helpline on 0300 123 1100.
So
- know there is a National Minimum and a National Living Wage
- know that they are going up
- know where to go for advice if you are receiving less than the minimum pay
